Owners of cars with foreign number plates to benefit of 70 percent discount for registration
Staring with January 2nd until March, the owners of cars with foreign number plates can register vehicles with a 70-per-cent discount. Facility owners were targeting cars that have been introduced in the country by November 1.
Fees can be paid at the offices of customs points in the country, including in Balti town and Chisinau.
The registration of the cars will be able to make at one of the 39 customs posts throughout the country.
Owners of cars registered abroad can pay the fee at any time, because more than half of the checkpoints will be working non-stop.
"The first document will be the technical passport of the transport, the second one will be the proving ownership. A third document will be the presentation of payment for road use" , said deputy director of the Customs Service, Iurie Ceban .
For example, the fee for registration of a car that has an engine capacity of 3,000 cc will be less than 3,300 euros.
The new provisions also refers to owners of cars with Transnistrian region numbers.
Those who will not register the cars will not be allowed to stay in the country more than six months a year.
Otherwise, the car will be escorted to the border by the police and the owner will pay all costs.
