Parliament approved changes to legislation on state of emergency
Moldovan Parliament has approved, in two readings, amendments to Law no. 212/2004 regarding the state of emergency, siege and war.
According to a statement from Parliament, in Article 4 (2), the text "adopting, modifying or repealing laws and electoral legislation" was excluded.
By supplementing Articles 22, 24 and 25 with the phrase "exercise other powers", the powers of the Commission for Exceptional Situations of the Republic of Moldova, the Civil Protection and Exceptional Situations Service and the Ministry of Internal Affairs will be extended during the emergency, according to the specific circumstances of each case. The extension of the competences of the institutions responsible for managing the state of emergency is required so that they can undertake / institute other emergency measures as needed, as shown in the press release.
