Andrian Candu, Parliament Speaker, had today meetings with Senate President Calin Popescu-Tariceanu and the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Liviu Dragnea, in Bucharest, where he holds the last official visit of the current mandate.

The Moldovan Parliament's delegation includes George Mocanu, co-chair of the Joint Commission for European Integration between the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova and the Parliament of Romania.

Andrian Candu, Parliament Speaker, thanked his counterparts for their strong support for the European path of the Republic of Moldova and support for the projects carried out in recent years in our country. At the same time, Andrian Candu spoke of the necessity of multiplying projects that bring sustainable benefits to the development of the Republic of Moldova. In particular, the Parliament Speaker referred to energy interconnection projects and investment support projects.

During the meetings, topics related to the future presidency of Romania at the Council of the European Union were discussed, topics related to security and measures against hybrid risks. At the same time, the parties discussed a strong support program of the Republic of Moldova from Romania that could be launched next year.

The presidents of the two Chambers of the Romanian Parliament also underlined the support of the European perspective of the Republic of Moldova and the internal reforms on the European integration path of the country.

The talks focused on the parliamentary elections in February next year, Andrian Candu stressing the authorities' determination to ensure a democratic and fair election, according to international standards. The President of the Parliament invited the members of the Romanian Parliament to participate in the international missions for monitoring the parliamentary elections next year.

At the end of the meetings, the President of Parliament signed the Honorary Book of the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of Romania and handed out the Medal of Democracy to Calin Popescu Tariceanu and Liviu Dragnea for remarkable contributions to deepening the friendship relations between the Republic of Moldova and Romania, for special merits in the development of relations with the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova.

At the same time, the President of Parliament was decorated with the Parliament's Column, the highest distinction of the Chamber of Deputies in the Parliament of Romania.
