Pavel Filip met with Angela Merkel. Germany advocates advance ongoing support
Prime Minister Pavel Filip today met Angela Merkel, the Federal Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, in the margins of the fifth Eastern Partnership Summit. The officials addressed aspects of the bilateral partnership and the possibilities for its dynamism.
The prime minister noted the durable and constructive character of the Moldovan-German relations and expressed the Moldova interest for the amplification of the bilateral dialogue.
In addition, Pavel Filip thanked the German authorities for the financial and technical support provided to Moldova in the implementation of the reform agenda and the EU-Moldova Association Agreement, appreciating the decision to keep our country in the list of beneficiary countries from Germany.
"We continue to count on Berlin's support in promoting the European reform agenda of Moldova, including setting up the European Union's relationship with the Eastern Partnership countries," said Pavel Filip.
At the same time, the head of the Executive appreciated the political support granted by Germany in the process of settling the Transnistrian conflict.
Angela Merkel, in return, said that her country will continue to support the modernization of the Republic of Moldova and the implementation of reforms aimed at improving the living conditions of the citizens.
At the same time, the German official welcomed the relaunch of the "5 + 2" negotiations, noting that Germany is advocating the political settlement of the Transnistrian conflict
