On this day 18 years ago, unimaginable horror struck America when four commercial flights were hijacked by terrorists and crashed into sites including New York City's Twin Towers. President of Democratic Party Pavel Filip sends the sincere condolences to the American people in commemorating the victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

On morning of Tuesday, September 11, 2001, a series of four coordinated terrorist attacks were carrie out by the Islamic terrorist group al-Qaeda against the United States.

In less than two hours of the attacks, 2996 people had been killed and more than 6000 injured, including hundreds of firefighters and police officers who rushed to the scenes.
