PDM: Right-wing parties can't nominate single candidate and refuse to discuss with each other
Pro-European parties do not want to cooperate with each other on the threshold of the Mayor campaign, moreover, they refuse to talk about the appointment of a single candidate. The statement comes from PDM spokesman Vitalie Gumurari.
"We discussed today the PAS initiative, namely to assume the DA Platform candidate in the Chisinau City Hall elections, a bi-party candidate, not a unique candidate, unfortunately. In this context we regret the fact that according to surveys , Maia Sandu gains more chances to win against the Socialist Party's representative in this election campaign."We expected the initiative from her, and you know that the Democratic Party came first with the initiative to start negotiations for choosing a unique candidate from the pro-European parties in the Chişinău elections.
"We regret that, as the way DA and PAS parties did when they came up with their position without consulting the other pro-European parties."Mistake is repeated from presidential office when that unwillingness to cooperate with the pro-European parties and here I refer to the approach that came from PDM, and the result of the presidency was given to Mr. Igor Dodon.
"If this lack of unity continues to exist, there is a risk that the Chisinau City Hall will be given to the Party of Socialists.
"Regretfully, this situation exists. The Democratic Party will continue to keep track of the trends in this context, and remain in the same position as we have been.
"The PDM has clearly stated that it supports a single candidate of the pro-European forces. In the context that a person will be nominated and all pro-european parties will reach the common nomination that the candidate represents pro-european vectors, then PDM is open to support that person."In case we don't want to be misinterpreted, PDA leader is not representative of right-wing parties, he's a bi-party candidate now."said Vitalie Gumurari.
PUBLIKA.MD reminds that PDM delegated PDM vice-president Vladimir Cebotari as the negotiator in the appointment of the single candidate.
