Peanuts with drugs found at Soroca penitentiary
The ingenuity of individuals has no limits when it comes to smuggling banned substances in detention facilities.
Thus, on September 13th, after checking a food parcel for a detainee, the employees have found a solid brown susbstance, like hashish and of an unknown white substance, placed inside peanuts, writes dip.gov.md.
The peanuts alleged drug were to reach a 30-year-old prisoner, sentenced to 5 years imprisonment.
The case is documented and the collected materials and substances were sent to Soroca Police Inspectorate to carry out criminal investigation.
Penitentiary Department appeals by citizens who send parcels to prisoners: do not try to hide banned substances because employees of specialized services in detention facilities check thorough everything and the chances of placing them in prison are minimized and you risk with own freedom.
