Patrol agents in Bălți are observing the undisciplined pedestrians during the winter holiday. There are still lots of people crossing the streets irregularly. 

Dozens of people were fined for crossing the street in forbidden places. 

"Why have you crossed the street irregularly? You can risk your own life!" said a policeman. 

"I know I've broken the law, but my legs are painful, I can't reach the crosswalk. Please forgive me this time". 

Others even ignore the signal of traffic light or the road sign. 

Seven road accidents involving pedestrians occurred only in the last two months. Three people were killed. 

For irregular crossing of the street, the fines amount to 300 lei. Operation Pedestrian started on 24 December and will end on January 8.
