A fisherman fell under ice, after he tried to save a colleague of his. Fortunately, it was just a manifestation of the General Emergency Situations Inspectorate of MAI.
The specialists warn that in case of such accidents, each second matters and seven minutes spent in the cold water can be fatal.
The case occurred at Valea Morilor lake.
The specialists say that people can help the victims if they are well-prepared. Otherwise, they should seek for help.
"The displacement to the collapsed person is crawled on the elbows up to a maximum distance of four meters. As alternative rescue ways can serve scarves, belts and the sleighs", declared Eugeniu Ticu, the representative of General Emergency Situations.
People were saved within four minutes, but specialists say that the victim can suffer a respiratory arrest.
"The pupils are dilated and don't react to light, the pulse and breathing are absent", said Ion Roman, the doctor of Rescue Service.
In the first seconds after the victim is taken off the water, somebody should take her clothes off and it should be covered with a blanket. After that, follow the resuscitation.
The specialists warn that the thin ice layer from the lakes, rivers and storage tanks are very dangerous. The rescues who played the victims' role say that even if they are well prepared, the experience was not easy at all.
Despite the warnings, many people don't hesitate to try the eye layer. The man from the photos say that this king of fishing is his hobby.
The specialists say that the fishermen must take a rope with them.
"We also have the chisel that can help us to take somebody off the water", said Sergiu Ungureanu, rescue.
Till the end of the month, the meteorologists declared Yellow Code for thin ice layer.
