Prime Minister Pavel Filip today met with the delegation of the pre-election mission of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) headed by Claude Kern. The observers team will monitor the preparations for the 24th February elections in the Republic of Moldova. 

The prime minister appreciated that the PACE has responded to the invitation to observe the electoral process in our country, noting that all necessary measures were taken at institutional level to ensure the future elections run properly.

"It is in our interest that these elections to be fair, free and transparent so that we do not leave any elements that would question the fairness of this electoral campaign. We want as many observers as possible, so that this electoral process can be monitored as objectively as possible," the prime minister said.

The members of the PACE delegation welcomed the opening of the Government for communication. 

"The Republic of Moldova is a very important country for us. We are not here to criticize, but to objectively and impartially monitor the electoral process. "

The pre-election process in our country is monitored by 32 PACE observers, who will be in the Republic of Moldova until 31 January.

A statement will be issued at the end of the visit. The mission of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe monitors the electoral process in the Republic of Moldova since 1994.
