Premier Pavel Filip's message on Victory Day and Europe Day
Today we celebrate peace and commemorate the victims of the World War II. It’s also today that we mark the Europe Day, which has special importance for this country. It’s the message Prime Minister Pavel Filip sends to the Moldovan citizens.
"May 9 is the day when we celebrate peace and commemorate the victims of the World War II and the heroes fallen for the Independence of the Fatherland. It’s today that we remember the war tragedy, the lost human lives and the catastrophic, bloody consequences, we realize that, in order to develop, we need peace, prosperity and trust in tomorrow.
It’s also today that we mark Europe Day. This day gains growing importance for this country. The values the EU promotes insure the peace and the prosperity in the region, that is why I think May 9 must be a day uniting us in our course towards a better future.
Dear veterans, thank you for your courage and sacrifices made in order to offer the new generations the opportunity to live in peace, in sunshine and with hopes in the future. Now it’s our turn, that we, the Moldovan citizens, should work for Moldova’s European course," the Prime Minister wrote.
