Premier repeatedly submitted to President candidatures of new government members
Prime Minister Pavel Filip repeatedly submitted to the president the candidatures of the future members of the Government. There are five new ministers and two deputy ministers. This happened after President Igor Dodon said he would sign the resignation of the current ministers, but he would not accept the new candidatures.
According to the Constitution, the head of state is obliged to sign decrees.
Previously, PDM spokesman Vitalie Gamurari said if institutional blockade happened, the government could address the Constitutional Court.
A similar situation occurred in September after Igor Dodon repeatedly refused Eugen Sturza as Defense Minister, proposed by Prime Minister Pavel Filip.
In order to overcome the institutional blockade, the temporary prerogatives of the head of state were taken over by Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu, who signed the decree appointing the new Minister of Defense.
