Children with diabetes received for the first time free devices for blood glucose monitoring. Until now, they were purchased exclusively by their parents. Under these conditions, only 25 percent of the children had the opportunity to do this procedure regularly.
400 children received blood glucose meters, lancets and blood glucose monitoring tests for the next four months. Because of this, minors will be able to correctly administer the dose of insulin.
Previously, parents were spending between 600 and 800 lei per month for these devices. Money for the purchase of blood glucose meters, tests and lancets were allocated by the National Company of Insurance in Medicine.
