President Igor Dodon met again with Transnistria leader Vadim Krasnoselsky. The leaders toured Bender Fortress
Moldova's President Igor Dodon had another meeting, an unofficial one, with the leader of Transnistria Vadim Krasnoselsky. The head of state announced in a post that they visited Bender Fortress, an architectural gem of the 16th century located near the medieval city of Bender (also known as Bendery and Tighina) on the right bank of the Dniester River.
According to the President, the meeting could have been systematic. The visit was made on the occasion of the Unity Day, a national holiday held on November 4 in Russia.
It's seen from the photo that the families of Dodon and Krasnoselsky made a tour of fortress. Wives of the two leaders along with their children also attended the meeting. Dodon said he wanted their wives to know each other better after this visit.
Krasnoselsky defeated incumbent President Yevgeny Shevchuk in the 2016 presidential elections, receiving 62% of the vote. He was inaugurated on 27 December at the Nadezhda Aronetskaya State Drama Theatre.
