Moldovan President Igor Dodon said that Chisinau didn't give in to Tiraspol after the authorities in Chisinau last week announced the annulment of the bans on vehicles with Transnistrian numbers. 

"It's not surrender but a mechanism that was established in the 5 + 2 format in 2017. People on the left bank of the Dniester who want to change the Transnistrian plates can replace with the neutral numbers so that their plates can be internationally recognized.

This process began. It was not about traffic bans with these numbers. They can't drive in Europe with their Transnistrian numbers. Ukraine already said they would not allow them either", stressed President Dodon. 

However, the head of state acknowledges that the situation unfolded after talking with Tiraspol leader Vadim Krasnoselski.

"What kind of blockade, Mr Krasnoselski? There are our citizens on both banks of the Dniester. I think that in the near future more and more citizens on the left bank will obtain neutral plates", said Dodon.
