Building the Ungheni-Chișinău gas pipe will end later in 2018, said Premier Pavel Filip, after the joint reunion of the Cabinets from Bucharest and Chisinau in the Romanian city of Piatra Neamţ.

The construction works of the natural gas pipe will start next year. It will have almost 120 km in length and will cross 25 localities from the districts of Ungheni, Nisporeni, Strășeni, Călărași and Chișinău municipality. 

The EBRD disburses a loan of EUR41 mn for this project, the European Commission granted Moldova EUR10 mn. The Moldovan state will disburse MDL22.3.
