Prime Minister Pavel Filip will participate at the 4th meeting of the Association Council
Moldova's progresses in completing the EU Association Agreement will be discussed those days at Brussels. The subject will be included in the 4th meeting of the Association Council EU - Republic of Moldova, attended by Prime Minister Pavel Filip.
At the event will be discussed the justice, combating corruption, improving business environment and development of civil societies reforms. As well as the economic relations between Chisinau and Brussels.
Pavel Filip will meet with multiple high-ranking EU officials, including Donald Tusk, President of the European Council, Federica Mogherini, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Johannes Hahn, European Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations.
The Prime Minister's work visit will end on May 6.
In the past few years the relations between Moldova and European Union have strengthened, which influenced the country's economic development.
EU is among Moldova's main commercial partners, export to EU growing by each passing year. Statistics shows that in 2017, nearly 66% of Moldovan products were sold on the EU market, worth nearly 1.6 billion USD, by 20% more than in 2016.
Moldovan products are becoming more sought in Austria and Spain, where exports increased by 50%. Our products also gained popularity in Poland, Germany and Romania.
In Moldova are activating companies such as Orange, Groupe Societe Generale, Banca Transilvania, Lafarge, Metro, Sudzucker etc.
EU is among the biggest investors of Moldova, the allocations reaching at the moment nearly 1 billion Euro.
With EU's support were unfolded various reforms, development and business environment projects, as well as modernization of infrastructure.
