Prosecutor Ivan Filimon, who put Andrei Braguţa in isolation, was dismissed
Prosecutor Ivan Filimon, who put Andrei Braguţa in isolation, was dismissed. The decision was taken today by members of the College of Discipline and Ethics of Prosecutors.
Following the investigations, it was found that the prosecutor had committed disciplinary deviations in the case of Braguţa, namely that he ignored the fact that the young man had psychological disturbances, thus violating the Code of Ethics for Prosecutors.
In turn, Filimon said he would challenge the decision.
Andrei Braguta was detained on August 15 while driving the car at excessive speed, including on the counter, endangering the lives and security of other road users.
Subsequently, Braguţa was escorted to the police and placed in the isolator, where he was brutally beaten.
A few days later, the young man was transferred to Pruncul Penitentiary, where he died on August 25th.
Following the death, four policemen and five prison staff were suspended from office.
