Reaction of Pavel Filip on Maia Sandu's statement regarding IMF funding
Pavel Filip has expressed his concern regarding the affirmations given by the political leaders in Chisinau.
“I was surprised by the public request done by the PAS leader, Maia Sandu, through which she requests IMF to not sign a new program with Moldova” said the prime minister.
Also, Pavel Filip has called the action of Maia Sandu as a cynical one.
“I consider the action of Maia Sandu as an irresponsible and cynical one towards the citizens of Moldova, in the situation in which the PAS leader herself insisted before, that an agreement with IMF is vital” said Pavel Filip.
At the same time, the prime minister has mentioned that the lack of foreign financing might lead to an economic blockage.
“The absence of an agreement with IMF would mean the absence of other foreign financing, and this might lead to an extremely dangerous economic blockage, including a big social crisis” declared Pavel Filip.
In this context, media analyst Cristi Tabara claims that this way, the former minister of Filat Government, in which mandate the banking fraud was committed, joins those who want to block the development of the country.
Maia Sandu also made an appeal to opposition parties and the pro-Russia parties to create a common field and to block IMF to give financing to Moldova.
According to Cristi Tabara, this might mean the entry of Moldova in financial difficulties and the state might not pay the pensions and salaries to public officials.
Moreover, if IMF will not sign an agreement with Moldova, as per Sandu’s request, the European finances will not be unblocked and foreign investors will not be attracted.
It is not the first time when the former minister joins the pro-eastern parties. Previously, Maia Sandu participated to the rallies organized by Igor Dodon and Renato Usatai
