Recidivist Pavel Grigorciuc detained for 72 hours. He may face up to 5 years in jail
Recidivist Pavel Grigorciuc, who assaulted Democratic MP Sergiu Sîrbu, was detained for 72 hours. The information was confirmed by the Deputy Head of the General Police Inspectorate, Gheorghe Cavcaliuc.
Law people have initiated a criminal case on committing the hooliganism offense. According to the police, the suspect may face up to 5 years in prison.
We remind that the democratic deputy Sergiu Sârbu was hospitalized urgently after being physically assaulted by one of the leaders of extremist organization Antifa, the criminal Pavel Grigorciuc.
The incident took place in a cafe in the Stefan cel Mare public garden in Chisinau, after the meeting of Parliament was concluded. He verbally attacked and hit the PDM deputy. The politician got a concussion and lost consciousness.
Sergiu Sîrbu was hospitalized for several days in neurosurgery section of Institute of Urgent Medicine.
The incident was also confirmed by the deputy's wife, Ina Sîrbu, who witnessed the attack, along with several other dozens of people. Together with Grigorciuc was also Eduard Rudenco, the number one raider at CIS, Veaceslav Platon.
In a Facebook post, Pavel Grigorciuc admitted hitting Sergiu Sîrbu's cheek.
The police were informed of this case, and Grigorciuc was transported to the Buiucani Police Inspectorate for hearings.
Previously, he was sentenced to four years in prison with suspension for mass disorder.
