Republic of Moldova is interested in cooperation with China
The Republic of Moldova is interested in developing bilateral relations with China, transforming it into a new, qualitatively strategic partnership, which will allow the expansion of cooperation, especially in social, economic, cultural and economic diplomacy. The statement was made by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Tudor Ulianovschi, during a meeting with China's Ambassador the Republic of Moldova, Zhang Yinghong.
According to the head of Moldovan diplomacy, a step in this direction is the launching of negotiations on the signing of a Free Trade Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and China, which will allow the diversification and expansion of the commercial-economic relations.
"In this context, the Moldovan authorities have given the Chinese side 2018 cooperation proposals so as to advance the negotiations on the Free Trade Agreement, the next round to be held in Beijing at the end of the current month", said Minister Tudor Ulianovschi.
The head of Moldovan diplomacy also mentioned that the authorities of the Republic of Moldova cooperate effectively with the Beijing Government in the context of the implementation of the Chinese initiative of the "Silk Road" economic circuit.
"We consider China's initiative to be of great importance and opportunity and express our willingness to participate in the investment and infrastructure projects under the aegis of Silk Road", said Tudor Ulianovschi.
In this context, Ambassador Zhang Yinghong reiterated the interest of Chinese authorities in deepening bilateral relations both through the implementation of bilateral projects under implementation and by initiating new cooperation programs in the economy, energy, infrastructure, information technologies.
"The existing legal framework between China and the Republic of Moldova creates all the prerequisites for the development and enhancement of bilateral relations, the advancement to a new level," the Chinese diplomat said.
The Republic of Moldova and China signed 61 cooperation agreements in various fields, including commercial-economic cooperation, mutual protection of investments, avoidance of double taxation on income and capital taxes, air services, consular services, youth, education, among which Joint Statement on the further strengthening of multidimensional cooperation in the 21st century and an understanding on material aid granted by the Republic of China.
