Today, January 23, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research sent two minibuses to the Republican Boarding High School with Sports Profile from Chisinau. The event was attended by the General Secretary of State, Igor Sarov.

In his message, the official stressed the importance of this institution for the field of sports performance in our country, which in almost 50 years of existence has been an inexhaustible source of talent for the national junior, youth and seniors teams of the Republic of Moldova. At the same time, Igor Sarov said that one of the Ministry's priorities in the field of sports is the modernization of the infrastructure and the rehabilitation of the sports institutions, so this year there were allocated more financial resources for endowments and repairs so that the pupils have not only an education quality, but also adequate sports training.

For the procurement of transport means, 817,050 lei was allocated from the state budget. These are Mercedes Benz Sprinter (21 seats) and Ford Transit (9 seats).

The Republican Boarding High School with Sports Profile was established in 1971, being the only educational institution of its kind in the country. At present, 526 students are studying here. The institution specializes in the training of performance athletes in order to complete national batches for participation in national and international sports competitions between cadets and juniors. In the High School, students are trained at 10 sports disciplines: athletics, boxing, free wrestling, Greek-Roman fights, judo, football, handball, weightlifting, taekwondo and kayak. Of the athletes who participated in the Olympic Games, 13 have made their studies in this institution. In 2018, 137 high school students became national champions at various sports events, and also managed to win 36 medals at various international competitions.
