Road that connects Chisinau with basin of Black Sea started to be repaired

The statement was made by the Minister of Economy and Infrastructure, Chiril Gaburici, after the signing of the contract for rehabilitation of 85 km of the national road M3 Chişinău-Giurgiuleşti.
The document was signed by the State Road Administration and LLC Automagistral - Pivden Company from Ukraine. The contract provides for the rehabilitation of two sections of the M3 national road from Comrat, the villages Svetlîi and Ciumai to the bypass section of the village of Slobozia Mare. Among the works to be executed are: rehabilitation and asphalting of the road, pavement development, construction of bus stations, arrangement and construction of a parking area and three roundabouts, construction of a bridge, road marking, installation of traffic signs.
Minister Chiril Gaburici mentioned that it is very important that the rehabilitation works be carried out in the established terms and that they be qualitative.
"This road will ensure the connection between Chisinau and Giurgiulesti. In fact, we are now starting the rehabilitation of the road that connects Chisinau with all the countries of the Black, in a good hour of the winning company! Please, do them qualitatively and in term", the Minister underlined.
The director of the Ukrainian company assured that the works will be carried out within a shorter term than is mentioned in the contract.
"We are the first company in Ukraine involved in the repair of Moldovan roads, with the signing of the contract, we undertake all the commitments in order to carry out the qualitative works, and the results will be seen as soon as possible", said Mykola Tymofeyev .
According to the director of the State Road Administration, Gheorghe Curmei, the contractual conditions are stricter, so that the repair works are carried out in the established terms. Late penalties have also been set, and if the works are poor, the contractor will be required to remedy them for his own account.
The cost of construction and repair works is 29.3 million Euro. The contract is part of the Road Sector Program, with EBRD financial support. The planned time for completion is 36 months and 12 months for the fault notification period (warranty period).
