Romania braces to join OECD. Prime minister's statements
Romania wants to become a member of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), prime-minister Dacian Ciolos told the organization’s council members on Thursday, in Paris.
He attended a special OECD council reunion dedicated to Romania.
“We are more active in the OECD working groups because we want to become members of this organization. It’s not just the Government’s objective, it’s de country’s objective,” Ciolos said.
“We have made the necessary steps in the reform process and our macroeconomic indicators look good. We know the high standards this organization promotes and joining it would allow us to reach and keep these economic and social development standards on the long term,” the Romanian Prime Minister said.
