Gazprom announced that it will annul the contract with Naftogaz company from Ukraine. The decision will stop both the delivery and transit of gas in Ukraine, therefore, it will also affect Republic of Moldova.

Representatives from the Russian company declared they were wronged by the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce, whose final decision favored Ukraine and awarded Naftogaz damages of $4.63 billion. Starting March 1, Gazprom stopped supplying Ukraine with gas, despite the neighbor country having paid in advance.
