Russia is displeased by the decision taken at UN last week, which foresees the withdrawal of Russian troops from Transnistria. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Grigory Karasin, has met with Moldovan Ambassador to Russia, Andrei Neguță, having expressed his concerns regarding the document.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, bringing into force the document approved by UN member states will cause more difficulties with Transnistria. At the same time, it was mentioned that Chisinau's decision to forward this document, despite it not being approved by all political forces from the state, will worsen the relations between Russia and Moldova.

Authorities from Tiraspol have also reacted to this decision. A deputy from the Parliament of Transnistria declared that Russia must increase the number of its troops on the territory and not withdraw them. 

Last Friday, United Nations General Assembly has approved the resolution submitted by Moldova and another nine states on the withdrawal of Russian troops from the territory of Republic of Moldova. The document received 64 votes YES, 15 NO and 83 abstentions.
