Saint Trinity Municipal Hospital sections closed to reduce COVID-19 epidemic spread
Five medical workers and 32 patients from the "Saint Trinity” Municipal Hospital of Chisinau were diagnosed with the new coronavirus.
The announcement was made on Monday, during the City Hall meeting, by the head of the Social Assistance and Health Department, Tatiana Bucearschi.
She said that 58 samples were taken from the hospital last week.
Following the detection of 37 cases with COVID-19, six sections of the institution were closed: nephrology, cardiovery, hepatology, ENT, neurology, septic surgery. They stopped their activity and disinfection measures were taken.
"The movement of patients and staff was restricted in the institution. The health of patients and medical workers is monitored daily, "said Bucearschi.
All coronavirus-infected individuals were admitted to COVID-19 treatment facilities.
PUBLIKA.MD recalls that the first case of COVID-19 infection was registered in early April, when the head of the department tested positive for the new coronavirus.
To date, 1188 cases of infection have been confirmed among health system employees, including: doctors-283, nurses-434, surgeon's assistant-63, paramedics-1, pharmacists-19, auxiliary staff-388 people.
