In the parliamentary plenary, 63 out of 101 lawmakers voted in favor of the motion of censure against the Maia Sandu's Moldovan government.

Parties now have 90 days to try to form a new government. If they fail, another parliamentary election would be called.

The political party Sor abstained from voting on the motion of censure against the government. According to Denis Ulanov, the Sor faction leader, the formation does not want to particiapte in the political games. 

The coalition ACUM-PSRM has tussled over who should have the power to appoint a new prosecutor general. Sandu wanted to be able to make the choice herself, but the Socialists wanted a special commission under the justice ministry to decide.
