Center for Strategic Defense and Security Studies (CSDSS) of Alexandru cel Bun Military Academy held on May 17, 2018, at the Defense Ministry, an international summit "Security Strategic Environment: Challenges and Trends" that was attended by representatives of the academic and scientific environment from Republic of Moldova, Romania and Ukraine.

In the agenda were included subjects regarding the strategic interdisciplinary defense and security research in the context of Republic of Moldova's national security, how the crisis from Ukraine is influencing our country's security, the danger of separatism at the eastern borders of the European Union and other relevant topics.

The event was attended by Secretary of Stage of Defense Ministry, Radu Burduja, who greeted the interest of the academic community in addressing the topic of  regional security and defense issues, mentioning its importance particularly for the defense institution and for Republic of Moldova in general.

Commander of the Military Academy, Colonel Sergiu Plop specified in his turn that promoting and implementing scientific researches on national defense can be done only through joint effort and cooperation between research institutions from Republic of Moldova with those from abroad.

Colonel Sergiu Plop, mentioned that the Academy, through Center for Strategic Defense and Security Studies, pays special attention to this field, by regularly organizing activities with the implication of the academic and scientific environment from Republic of Moldova and from abroad.

The international summit "Security Strategic Environment: Challenges and Trends" is organized every year at CSDSS.
