Sergiu Sirbu voted: For people who love the country. Let us continue together the good things already begun for Moldova
Democrat Sergiu Sirbu exercised his right to vote and urged voters to vote for DPM to continue the good deeds already begun for Moldova.
"What a nice day on Sunday, when Moldovans are celebrating love. My birthday today was for the people of the country, like Chiril Gaburici, the candidate on the constituency 31, and the whole team of the DPM.
Let us continue, together, the good facts already begun For Moldova. Vote the Democratic Party, the first on the ballot.
Do not forget that today we have a very important referendum. You choose to have 61 deputies in Parliament to work more efficiently and you can be held accountable if they fail to fulfill their duties", said Sergiu Sirbu.
PUBLIKA.MD mentions that, for the first time, the elections take place on the basis of the mixed voting system. This means that 50 Parliamentarians are elected as in the previous elections, on party lists, and 51 - in uninominal constituencies. The distribution of the 50 deputy mandates in the national constituency will be made only for the competitors who have exceeded the electoral threshold: 6% for the parties and 8% for the electoral blocs.
The uninominal vote means that people will choose a candidate in the constituency where they have a residence visa. There are a total of 51 districts, where 300 competitors are applying. Most 11 are in Chisinau, two in Balti, 3 abroad, 2 in Gagauzia and Transnistria and 31 in the rest of the country.
According to the electoral legislation, one round will be organized in each constituency, and the winner will be the one who will get the most votes.
If several candidates have accumulated an equal number of votes, the District Electoral Council will establish the winner by drawing lots. If it is elected on the party list, only the result of the uninominal constituency will be considered.
When awarding party mandates, the candidate will not be counted.
