The roof of the Zoology Institute of the Science Academy that is placed in Telecentru sector caught fire at 12 pm. One hundred firemen and 14 fire engines intervened to extinguish the flames.

People who were inside the building got scared and run outside:

"People run outside. The roof was changed in 2006 - 2007", said Andrei Munteanu, teacher.

"When the smoke got up here, we got scared and run away."

The employees of the academy tried to extinguish the flames with their own forces, but those were spreading fast.

"The roof was made of such a material that burns fast", declared Ion Toderas, the director of Zoology Institute.

The smoke could have been noticed from far.

"Everything was burning, the smoke was so thick."

After an hour and a half, the firemen extinguished the flames in an hours.

"The firemen worked really fast to extinguish the flames. The flames didn't destroy the interior of the building", said Liliana Puscasu, the IGSU spokesman.

Some people though that the block of flats is on fire and they din't manage to take away the money and the documents.

"I got scared, I took all the documents and the necessary things and went out."

The administrator of the shopping mall says they respected the fire conditionalities. 

"As far as I understood, the fire broke the windows and arrived inside. A week ago, we cleaned the AC system", said Virgiliu Gaucean, manager.

The building also caught fire in the winter of 2016.
