Interim Mayor, Silvia Radu, requested for all documents allowing the activity of the economic agent from Lunedor shopping mall, which burned last Friday, to be withdrawn. 

A similar fire took place at the same shopping mall two years ago, when a surface of 60 square meters from the building were destroyed.

"I request of authorities, as well as the police to present all reports and take actions in this case. All documents allowing the economic agent's activity must be withdrawn, as this is the second fire, posing a threat to the citizens' welfare. I am surprised that it was not done after the first blaze from 2016. Such things will not be allowed in the future. I urge authorities to keep an eye on this case and withdraw all documents allowing the economic agent's activity" Silvia Radu said.

After the blaze from Ismail street nobody was hurt, but the flames caused significant damage. The fire has also destroyed two cars that were parked near the building at the time. Silvia Radu declared that it was caused by breaches during constructions.

Another fire burst in Telecentru, also on April 20, when the roof of Institute of Microbiology and Biotechnology of the Science Academy of Moldova caught fire. 

 "Works were being performed at the rood. The people who were executing said works did not respect all safety measures" interim Mayor Silvia Radu mentioned.

PUBLIKA.MD reminds that on Friday, a fire took place in the Capital's heart. Lunedor shopping mall, located at the intersection of Ismail street and Dmitrie Cantemir boulevard, burst into flames.

A similar fire took place in the same spot back in January 2016.

At the time, 60 square meters of the building were destroyed, the rest being saved by rescuers and firefighters.
