Soldiers form the National Army and students of the Military Academy Alexandru cel Bun have donated blood. Defense Ministry managed blood donation centers in Chişinău, Cahul, Bălţi and Ungheni.

Minister Eugen Sturza, along with heads of the institution's departments and commanders of the Army, donated blood at the 142nd Military Camp.

Eugen Sturza mentioned that through this campaign, Defense Ministry wishes to rise awareness and urges all citizens to donate blood.

"We all have a someone with ill heath - relatives, colleagues, neighbors, people close to us - let us join hands to help them, to donate blood for them and give them a chance to live. I urge everyone to join the soldiers from the National Army and prove that life is a priority" Defense Minister said.

A total of around 500 soldiers and students from the Military Academy donated blood.

The campaign is part of a National Action Plan to secure transfusion and ensure blood products of the country for 2017-2021.
