Starting this summer all auctions will be held on an online platform! More transparency and less corruption
Starting this summer all state auctions will be held on an online platform. To this point, on the specialized web page were posted only purchases costing less than 80 000 lei. Authorities claim that this system will allow bigger transparency and combat corruption. This subject was discussed today by Finance Minister, Octavian Armaşu, who met with students from Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova.
"We aim to attract as many users on this platform as possible, to have a virtual market where goods and service suppliers can easily meet those who wish to purchase them" Finance Minister, Octavian Armaşu said.
During the meeting, students also inquired how efficient is the management of public money.
"The Government's reforms, what is the financial efficiency, the results, can they already be felt?"
"We pay less people, but with bigger salaries. I am not ashamed to face people and give them a task and say let us proceed, or if necessary come in to work on Saturday, or perhaps you could work overtime today? at least now they are better paid" Finance Minister, Octavian Armaşu said.
The event was also attended by EU Ambassador to Moldova, Peter Michalko.
"Republic of Moldova has a good reputation in terms of money management. This support is rather efficient and is actually offered only after the progress in reform implementation, requested by the Association Agreement, are investigated" Peter Michalko said.
Most active students have also received volleyballs with the signature of both Octavian Armaşu and Peter Michalko.
"It was interesting, a new experience for us, for all students and a good challenge."
"We support the initiative and hope to work in the future at the Ministry of Finance or the Court of Accounts and support a brighter future for Republic of Moldova, with a better financial standing."
"We have the opportunity and only need to manifest interest and gain good results."
In 2017, Republic of Moldova has participated for the first time in the Open Budget Index Rankings. Our country managed to gain 58 points, which is by 16 points more than the world average.
