Soldiers are sometimes made to chose between serving their country and their families. It is the story of sergeant Oleg Stiopa, who was sent to Kosovo, only three months before his wife Cristina has brought into this world their firstborn. The solider cannot wait to return home and see, for the fits time, his already two-month-old daughter.

In order to make the time seems to pass faster, Cristina is talking daily with her husband and sends photos of their little Andreea:

"-Hello dear. How are you? How is our little girl?

 -She is at home with her grandmother, she cannot wait to see you. -I will soon have her in my arms.

- Yes, just a little longer. The hardest part passed and soon you will be home. I want to say that I love you both very much.

-We love you too."

When speaking of Andreea, the soldier is overwhelmed with emotions. He said that he was on duty when he hear the news.

"At the time when my wife gave birth I was on duty, paroling. It was a surprise. I knew it was the last week when the child was supposed to be born, but I never know when exactly", he mentioned.

The young men said that once returned he will recover all the time he missed out on with his family: "This mission had to be done. It was hard to accept, but this is how it is for us, the mission must be complete. I am very happy to always think that I have a little man waiting for me at home."
Oleg Stiopa is member of the 7th military unit of Moldovans that participate in the KFOR mission in Kosovo. This mission is done with 40 other soldiers from Moldova, sent for peace maintaining operation, didn't forgot to congratulate him.

"It is an important event both for him and us. We supported him and congratulated together. We celebrated to the best of our abilities here. Prepared traditional Moldovan food" Sergeant major Miron Cristian, of the 22nd battalion of peace maintaining mission, declared.

In Moldova, Oleg Stiopa's wife, Cristina said that she respects his decision to go and protect the country:

"I found our that he has to leave before finding out that I was pregnant and it was ok. After finding out that I will soon become a mother it was a bit harder, but it was his dream and oh well, he had to leave."

The new mother said that in a few years, their daughter will appreciate what Oleg has done: "I believe it will be an unspeakable happiness for her. When she will grow up, she will be proud of her father."
