Survey: Each third ASEM student offered bribery at teacher's request
According to University Ethics Committee nearly each third ASEM student confessed of giving bribery at teacher's request.
A total of 120 students participated in the survey.
35 of them claimed to offer bribery at the lecturer's direct request, while 30 mentioned that 3rd parties were involved.
34 students confessed of offering bribery on their own will, while another 21 due to other reasons.
On Tuesday six ASEM teachers and 3 intermediaries were arrested for corruption.
According to NAC, for a passing mark students had to pay between 1 000 and 1 500 lei, while graduate and undergraduate students had to pay to 550 Euro to pass their thesis exam.
After searching the suspects' houses and offices were seized over two million lei.
Intermediaries received 30 days of preventive detention, two ASEM lecturers were put under house arrest for a month, while another under judicial control. Another three lecturers are waiting for their trial.
