Synagogue and Jewish museum to be built in Chisinau, Parliament decides
A synagogue and a Jewish museum will be built in Chişinău. These measures are provided in an action plan endorsed by the Parliament to fight anti-Semitism.
Speaker Andrian Candu discussed the matter with an OSCE representative, Andrew Baker.
"The most important thing is to enhance the spirit of tolerance and realization of the Holocaust horrors and to condemn the anti-Semitic actions," Andrian Candu said.
The OSCE representative, who’s also a rabbi, was enchanted with the initiative of the Chişinău Legislature: "I assure you the needed financing from the OSCE will arrive as soon as the plan starts being implemented. Also other organizations, people and friends from abroad will join the process."
In 2015, the Parliament decreed January 27 as the Holocaust Remembrance Day in Moldova.
