Ten Customs officers risk years of imprisonment for corruption

Ten customs officers at Tudora, Palanca and Bender border customs points have been detained in September for corruption. Among them is the head of the Customs Office Bender.
Other 20 customs officers have been arrested for allegedly claiming money from people carrying goods to Ukraine and vice versa, without checks.
If found guilty, they risk up to 15 years in prison and will not hold certain public offices for a period of up to five years.
Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office continues investigations of other officers.
