About 2000 hemp plants, exceeding 150 cm in height, were found by the Moldovan-Ukrainian border "Ocnita". Following searches at just 500 meters from the borderline, hemp plants was discovered in a sunflower field with a different phase of vegetation.

 About 2,000 hemp yarns were pulled on the spot. The officers found out that the plantation was not planted on purpose and was not being cared for. According to the legal procedures, the whole batch of hemp has been sent for technical-scientific expertise, and then it will be destroyed by burning.

 Border police alongside other MAI subdivisions will run the Operation "The poppy plant-2017", which will aim to combat illicit trafficking of vegetal origin drugs, the detection and destruction of narcotic-containing plants and identification of people cultivating such plants illegally in the border area.
