Regarding the information disseminated to the public about the foreclosure of the buildings of television channels PRIME TV, PUBLIKA TV, CANAL 2, CANAL 3 and the production company GMG Production, we hereby make the following clarifications:

1. Law enforcement institutions have not undertaken any such legal actions against PRIME TV, PUBLIKA TV, CANAL 2, CANAL. These media institutions continue working according to their regular schedule, in a professional manner, without any impediments. 2. All information spread by the media are referring to a company ÎCS “FINPAR INVEST, that has nothing to do with the activity of media institutions PRIME TV, PUBLIKA TV, CANAL 2, CANAL 3.

3. ÎCS “FINPAR INVEST” company is the owner of the building where several media institutions, among which PRIME TV, PUBLIKA TV, CANAL 2, CANAL 3 are renting spaces for their activity.

4. The fact that the building may be seized does not affect the activity of the tenants, respectively of media institutions and journalists working in the news rooms located in the building, because this precautionary measure has no direct connection to the media institutions PRIME TV, PUBLIKA TV, CANAL 2, CANAL 3 or the equipment these companies own.

Regarding the dissemination to the public of false information by the website www.newsmaker.md about the search conducted by law enforcement institutions in the studios and news rooms of PRIME TV, PUBLIKA TV, CANAL 2, CANAL 3, we hereby make the following clarifications:

1. No search has been conducted in the studios and news rooms of PRIME TV, PUBLIKA TV, CANAL 2, CANAL 3.

2. Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office has not confirmed whether an order for such a search has been issued.

We sincerely regret that such false information about the activity of media institutions PRIME TV, PUBLIKA TV, CANAL 2, CANAL 3 is being disseminated for manipulation purposes. These actions have a strong negative impact on the employees, partners, clients and on our viewers as well. It is important to mention that news and entertainment media productions broadcasted by PRIME TV, PUBLIKA TV, CANAL 2, CANAL 3, created by a team of professionals are, according to rating measurements carried out throughout the last few years, the most appreciated local media productions in the Republic of Moldova.

We would like to believe that actions described above are not part of a politically orchestrated campaign carried out with media institutions loyal to the government in order to hinder our activity, undermine our credibility and put pressure on journalists, partners, clients and viewers of PRIME TV, PUBLIKA TV, CANAL 2, CANAL 3.

We hope that all these actions do not represent a reaction of the political power to the news, reports, debates and journalistic investigations broadcasted on PRIME TV, PUBLIKA TV, CANAL 2, CANAL 3, in which abuses, violations of law and democratic principles by the authorities, as well as integrity problems of certain political actors were revealed.

We call on all national and international media institutions, diplomatic missions, all our partners, but also our viewers for the benefit of whom we carry out our activity, to monitor the above described situation, to support the right to freedom of speech and blame all attempts of intimidating media institutions and limiting the right of journalists to inform the public.
