According to Chisinau Police press officer Natalia Stati, the suspect, Vasile Sinigur, is criminally investigated for hooliganism.
He's said to work in the Interior Ministry. Publika TV couldn't contact him for comment.
However, the Interior Minister Alina Zbancă said he never worked in the ministry.
Some veterans said they don't know him and he actually provoked the incident, moreover, they said he was neither a war veteran.
"He was not at war. There were people who indeed provoked violence, he was among them. We didn't intend to destroy anything", Nicolae Cătănoi, a war veteran said.
Yesterday hundreds of veterans stormed the Government building and demanded the withdrawal of Russian troops from the Transnistrian region. Veterans are also dissatisfied that the authorities failed to launch projects they promised previously.
These include free health insurance, annual rehabilitation treatment, tickets to the sanatorium, medicines for veterans and their families, but also 50 percent compensation for maintenance payments.
