She is one of the most known names in the fashion industry and she is half Moldovan. She’s Diane von Furstenberg, who has visited Moldova, her father’s homeland. The US designer, who invented the famous wrap dress, is impressed with Moldova and with its women.
Diane von Furstenberg was born in Belgium, then her family moved to the United States. The 69-year-old designer revolutionized the fashion of the ‘70s, having had the inspiration of creating another type of dress, the wrap dress, conquering many women and becoming the most successful female designer after Coco Chanel.
"The Moldovan women are the most beautiful. They have the most beautiful skin and I suspect they are very strong, too. And I encourage them not to be afraid and to take their life in charge," said Diane von Furstenberg.
She marks 40 years in the industry this year. She is one of the most influential and admired women. She was married to prince Egon von Furstenberg and has two children.
