Thorbjorn Jagland: Moldova should take into account the suggestions of the Venice Commission
Moldova will have to take into account the recommendations of the Venice Commission to ensure fairness in changing the electoral system. The statement belongs to the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Thorbjorn Jagland, who has had an official visit to our country.
"If you do not take into account the advice, there will be great tensions in society. I refer to those in power and opposition. My best advice for you is to pay attention to the recommendations of the Venice Commission" , said Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Thorbjan Jagland.
Thorbjorn Jagland also spoke about the Action Plan of the Council of Europe for our country over the next three years.
"We will continue to implement reforms in the legal system. Moldova needs more powerful and independent institutions, and here we intervene with our action plan" , said Thorbjan Jagland.
The Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Thorbjorn Jagland, has been in Chisinau for two days, while having several meetings with representatives of the Government, but also of civil society.
