The mayor of Chioselia Rusă village from Comrat district, the head of a Chisinau-based engineering company specialized in engineering construction and his brother, who is the site's director, was detained by PCCOCS. They are accused of embezzling money from the Ecological Fund.

According to the information, in 2016, the company was named winner in five public auctions held by municipalities in southern republics. The total value of these contracts was 41 million lei.

Under the contract, the company would build pumping and purification stations for aqueducts, sewers, pumping stations and purification plants.

But the three had other plans, wanting to get 7.23 million lei from the Ecological Fund, money that was meant to implement a local project for the construction of a sewerage system, pumping stations and purification stations in the village of Chioselia Rusă.

The implemented offending scheme consists of falsifying acts of reception of executed works. In other words, the company took money for works that it did not execute.

Moreover, additional unjustified expenses amounting to ROL 1,780,000 were admitted.

At the same time, PCCOS has picked up documents from four other mayors in the south of the country.
