The meeting between Moldovan-Azeri inter-governmental commission for commercial-economic cooperation, as well as the businessmen's bilateral forum, will be organized in the near future in Baku.

An agreement in this regard was agreed upon by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Tudor Ulianovschi, with the Azeri Minister of Agriculture, co-chair of the Moldovan-Azeri inter-governmental commission for commercial-economic cooperation, Inam Kerimov. 

In the course of the dialogue, the officials reviewed the current state of trade and economic relations between the two states, the developments in bilateral cooperation in other fields, noting that at the moment the existing potential of collaboration, especially in the infrastructure, agro-food industry, ecology, energy sector, etc. 

In his order, Tudor Ulianovschi and Inam Kerimov said that the organization of the 6th meeting of the Moldovan-Azerbaijani inter-governmental commission for commercial and economic cooperation in the first half of next year, as well as a bilateral business, would allow the deepening of the bilateral dialogue, the identification and initiation of new investment or other projects with the participation of the business environment of the Republic of Moldova and Azerbaijan. 

Minister Tudor Ulianovschi mentioned that after the implementation of a set of reforms to create a favorable climate for foreign investors, especially through free economic zones and industrial and IT parks, Moldova's market has become attractive for foreign companies, as an example is the increase in the volume of foreign direct investment in the economy national. 

Representatives of the two countries have approached a number of important topics on the Moldovan-Azerbaijani agenda, implicitly in the agriculture sector. In this context, Minister Tudor Ulianovschi stressed the need to increase bilateral trade by promoting more active domestic products on the markets of the two states, noting that the Republic of Moldova exported nuts, dried fruits and fresh fruits, pumps, pharmaceuticals, etc. to the Azeri market.

Minister Inim Kerimov mentioned the possibility of joint promotion of products from the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Azerbaijan abroad on the markets of third countries. 

According to statistical data, 126 Azerbaijan enterprises are currently registered in the Republic of Moldova.
