Ungheni-Chisinau gas pipeline project 90% complete
Moldova's Minister of Economy and Infrastructure has inspected several construction sites of the Iasi-Ungheni-Chisinau pipeline and the administrative complex of Vestmoldtransgaz in Ghidighici.
"It is in our interest to ensure the energy security of the country and of the region by diversifying the gas supply routes. Therefore, we will be able to materialize this objective by interconnecting with the transport networks in Romania and integrating Moldova in the European energy system. We closely monitor the progress of this strategic project in order to ensure the completion of the project in the established terms and to benefit from the pipeline by the end of the current year ", said Sergiu Railean.
Iulian Butnaru, the administrator of Vestmoldtransgaz informed that the works are carried out according to the planned terms. 106 out of 120 km linear section have been completed.
The administrative office of Vestmoldtransgaz, which will monitor the gas system, is almost ready for commissioning.
The estimated value of the project is 76 million euros according to the draft expenditure estimates within the project documentation prepared by SNTG Transgaz, Romania.
