US Ambassador Dereck J. Hogan has delivered a congratulatory message on the occasion of Independence Day of Republic of Moldova. The official pledges the US support as a strategic partner to Moldova. 

"I am honored to have the opportunity to congratulate you on the occasion of the 28th anniversary of the declaration of your country's independence. I have been in Moldova for only 10 months, but in this short time, I and my family already love this country. 

We have traveled to several regions of Moldova and discovered amazing rural landscapes, lively cities, and most important, wonderful and generous people who are proud of their country. In just 28 years you have traveled a long way as a sovereign and independent state, free to choose for itself the future.

This is a continuous process, my country is 243 years old and we are still working to improve it. We share your desire to have a country with a people's government, to strengthen government institutions, including by combating corruption and justice reform, the United States will continue to support the Republic of Moldova and its citizens in the process of building a more prosperous and democratic society and affirming the well-deserved place in Europe.

The United States will remain your strategic partner. We'll be here to help. From the entire team of the US Embassy in Moldova and from the people of the USA, I wish you a wonderful holiday," quoted the message of US Ambassador Dereck J. Hogan.
