US Embassy, PNUD, IGP and La Strada support 16 days of activism against gender violence
The Ambassador, James Pettit, Stefan Liller, the deputy representative of PNUD in Moldova, Alexandru Pinzari, the chief of the General Police Inspectorate and Ana Revenco, director of La Strada applied bumper stickers with the trustworthy number on the cars of INP. The action is a part of the campaign "16 days of activism against gender violence".
The world campaign "16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence" was initiated by the Center for Women’s Global Leadership in 1991. To launch this event, the day of November 25 was established the World Day of Fighting Against Gender Violation and the day of December 10, the World Day of Human Rights. According to the statistics, from the beginning of this year, almost 600 women and 45 children were victims of the family violation. Also, this year, 15 women and two children died because of the violation.
PUBLIKA.MD reminds that the project "No for violation against girls and women" was initiated by the Parliament of Republic of Moldova to support the women to pass such situations.
