USA Ambassador held meeting with FRISPA students: Moldovans are very united on their European path
The Moldovans have proven that they can be unite on the European path and show that the authorities registered a progress in this sense. This declaration belongs to Dereck Hogan, the USA Ambassador in Chisinau, within a meeting with the Faculty of International Relationship and Political Science of the State University.
The event was organized within Students' days at FRISPA. The university hall was filled with interested students. Derek Hogan talked about the importance of the parliamentary elections and urged them to vote.
"The Moldovans have already built things that they can be proud of. Now, they need to chose a bright, prosper and democratic future", mentioned the USA Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova.
Derek Hogan mentioned that the relationship between Moldova and the USA are so close in the past period. He hopes that the relation will be the same after the elections:
"Now, Moldova entertains trade, infrastructure, roads cooperation with the USA. The Moldovans are free to travel in Europe without visa."
After his speech, the official replied to the students' questions.
"I was impressed that his speech was in Romanian. Some of our citizens don't speak Romanian as good as he does", said a student.
"I liked the thing that we had an open dialogue. It was very interesting. I received a lot of useful information", said a student.
Dereck Hogan is from Virginia state in the USA. He works as a diplomat since 1997. The new Ambassador is a specialist of the State Department for Eastern Europe. He has been in different missions in Russia, Azerbaidjan and Afganistan. Besides English, he also speaks Russian, Spanish and Romanian.
