Moldova will return to the European map as a highly development agro-industrial country. This statement was made nu Premier Pavel Filip at launching the project High Value Agriculture in Moldova, financed by the USAID and amounting to $21 mn.

"Since we have the free trade agreement with the European Union, we must be competitive on this market, and on the domestic market, in order to offer our citizens qualitative products. We have the possibility to make investments to implement new technologies, so that the workers in the area are sure their efforts will bear fruit," Pavel Filip said.

U.S. ambassador to Moldova James Pettit has remarked the ascension of the Moldovan exports to the EU market, as the new project will help farmers comply with the European standards.

"The producers must enhance the quality of the products, get new varieties, insure stability of deliveries and food safety. Meanwhile, they will evaluate the export potential for new produce with high added value, like berries and honey," he said.

The Prime Minister has reiterated Moldova’s gratitude for the steady support offered by the U.S.A.
